   The area of Tarlton is situated on the border of the Cradle of Humankind, flanked by a plethora of tourist destinations like Maropeng, Sterkfontein Caves, the Krugersdorp Game Reserve, Tea Gardens, Nurseries and a wide range of business activities stretching from agriculture and farming to engineering and horse stud farms. Situated opposite us is the Tarlton International Raceway, where races and meetings are organized on virtually a weekly basis, and where the big brutes with jet engines burn tyres and fuel!  The area is full of history, with the Jamieson Raid having taken place just a few kilometers away. In the area grows one of the oldest trees in the country, being a Blue Gum planted in 1902.The area is studded with flower farms and the best vegetables in the country are harvested in Tarlton! Being virtually on the border of North West Province, the weather is the best in Gauteng. Warm to fairly hot in summer and cold to fairly cold in winter (except for this past winter with all it’s snow!). Tarlton is one of the best water-bearing areas in the country, and the origin of Maloney’s Eye, which becomes the Magalies River, is in the Sterkfontein Caves.  Not far from Tarlton lies the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens, a wonder of nature in itself. Host to the only (endangered) pair of Black Eagles for miles around, it is a haven for the pair, who manage to rear a baby every year with the help of enthusiastic volunteers.  Tarlton still hosts a wide variety of wildlife, like Hedgehogs, Jackals, Buck, Hares, Porcupines, Genets, Tortoises, Mongoose, Bush Babies and a wide variety of bird life.
